Volkstedt Puce Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Volkstedt around 1770. Both pieces are hand painted with a great landscape scene in puce including buildings, a fence and the usual trees, etc. Gold trim to the edges and the usual ribbed design to the paste on often finds on Thuringia area makers. The set is in superb condition with a tiny bit of wear and the usual firing/paste flaws normal to this maker and pieces of this period. Both pieces are marked underneath with the crossed hayforks in under glaze blue as shown as well as an impressed character. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.
