Volkstedt Strawflower Coffee Pot

This is a coffee pot made by Volkstedt around 1770. It is handpainted with an underglaze blue strawflower design and has the ribbed design to the paste that is typical for the Thuringia area. It is marked underneath with the early underglaze blue single pitchfork mark as well as an impressed mark as shown. The coffee pot is in superb condition with some nibbles on the spout and a chip to the footring. The lid's blue color is a bit brighter so it might be a match from another Thuringia area pot or a different date or it might have fired differently which was common on blue as it was very temperature dependent. Either way I have to mention it. The piece is 10.25 inches tall, 6.375 inches long and 5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $499
