Wallendorf Scenic Saucer

This is a great saucer made by Wallendorf around 1770. Wallendorf was founded in 1763 and is one of the few makers of the Thuringia region that are still around today. This saucer is handpainted with a polychrome scene in the center including some ruins, trees and people with a gold trim to the rim. The saucer is in good condition with one spot that was regilded on the rim though it doesn't look like there was a chip repaired there but on the other side of the saucer there is an area of overspray that was done to hide a hairline on the rim. It displays superbly! The underside rim has the typical raised line deisgn to the rim often seen on Thuringia area porcelain. The saucer is marked underneath with the underglaze blue W mark as well as an incised N. It is 1.125 inches tall and 4.875 inches in diameter. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.

Price is $349
