Wedgwood Miniature Teapot

This is a miniature Wedgwood teapot. Standing only 2 1/2 inches tall, this delicate teapot by Josiah Wedgwood typifies the refined neoclassical style he favored for his products. No rococo curves here—but a simple geometric shape with a band of calm decoration. Marked WEDGWOOD. Probably made around 1790. The tip of the spout has been shortened slightly and repainted, but it is otherwise in excellent condition. This piece belongs to a good friend of mine.
