Bird Scene Leaf Dish

This is a rare leaf dish in the form of two overlapping cabbage leaves made by Worcester in around 1765. It has a really nicel shape to it with the veins of the cabbage leaves showing in releif and the main center stem having been painted in pink. Gold trim to the edge. The center has a superb bird scene to it including three birds of paradise in a nice surrounding of plants and rocks. The rest of the dish has six butterfly / moths / bugs scattered all around. A truly superb piece! The plate is in superb condition with some minor wear to one spot of gilding and the largest bird in the scene with some scratches to the medium one though that all this is hard to spot when on display. Visible in the pictures since they are rather magnified. Some minor firing imperfections in the form of tiny black spots, etc. normal to these early wares. This example is unmarked which is not unusual for these early pieces but definitely made by them during this period! The piece is 2 inches tall at the handle/ stems with the dish being about 1.25 inches tall, 7.5 inches wide and 10.125 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
