Blue Ground Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a superb early cup and saucer made by Worcester in the 18th century. A truly great looking combination of the blue ground color, some nice gilding as well as a hand painted scene of an exotic bird sitting on a branch in the center of the saucer and a same style scene on each side of the cup. Each scene is surrounded by a nice gold trim with gilding along the edges of the set and some gold highlights to the handle of the cup. The cup and saucer are both in superb condition with the saucer having a small rough area to the very edge. it is gilded over and probably from when it was made. Invisible when on display or even from closeup but I am showing it in the pictures. The blue ground is a bit uneven in circular spots mainly on the opposite side of the handle on the cup as shown. It was made this way. All very minor and it displays superbly. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.25 inches. The saucer is about 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.125 inches. Both are marked with the under glaze blue crescent mark as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
