Chinoiserie Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Herend around 1860. This is when they made their best stuff. It is one of the Herend Chinoiserie patterns (copying Chinese and Japanese motives) but I am unsure of the name of the pattern. The set is superbly painted with what I think is a prunus blossom tree with a bird and some scattered flowers. The colors are thick and raised off the porcelain itself. Just amazing. Even underneath the saucer there are flowers painted. Both footrings are finely reticulated and painted which I have never seen anywhere else and the handle of the cup is in the shape of a small chinaman. Both pieces are marked underneath with their blue shield under the crown mark. The set is in perfect condition with a few small firing specs inside the cup. The cup is a bit over 2.625 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
