Herend Early Doccia Style Saucer

This is a fun early saucer made by Herend in the 19th century. This is when they made their best stuff. The saucer is hand painted nicely on a relief design copied from Doccia / Ginori porcelain of the 18th century and often reffered to as Capodimonte style. There are polychrome floral garlands connected by a nice shell and scroll work design mostly in puce with some blue and gilding. Gold trim to the edge as well as a couple of tiny gold flowers in the center. The piece is marked underneath with the imressed Herend mark as shown which was covered up in gold at some point and that was scratched away again later on as shown. No idea why. The saucer is in perfect condition with just a touch of wear. It is 0.875 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
