Herend Floral Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Herend in the 19th century. I have seen many makers try to copy Meissen but never Herend before until this piece :) The set is handpainted with a nice large floral arrangement as well as lots of scattered small flwoers, a basketweave design to the rim and a reddish brown trim. Possibly meant as a replacement piece for a Meissen set as that is what Herend was good at in their early days. Nice handle shape. Both are marked with the impressed Herend mark though it is very faint on the cup but what makes it interesting is the fake underglaze blue crossed swords with a star mark underneath the saucer meant to imitate Meissen from the Marcolini period! The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.75 inches in idameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Both are in perfect condition! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
