Herend Potpourri Dish

This is a superb lidded potpourri dish made by Herend in the late 19th century. I ahve not seen this piece by them but it is a shape one can find from many makers starting in the 18th century - for example Vienna and KPM made these. The main piece is hand painted with two large flower arrangements - one on each side as well as some smaller flowers. The lid has lots of 3D flowers on it with the holes hidden in between for the fumes to come out of. Some nice gold and green trim as well as branch handles. The piece is in great condition with some very minor chips to the flowers on the lid - actually one of the best preserved ones I have ever seen. The dish with its lid is 6.75 inches tall, 4.25 inches wide and around 3 inches deep. The dish is marked underneath with the blue shield with a crown on top mark, the letter S and the name Herend impressed almost illegibly in the center.
