Early Queen Victoria Cup & Saucer

This is an early version of the Queen Victoria pattern on a cup and saucer made by Herend in about 1915. It is hard to find their antique pieces and this is one of my favorite patterns by them so I was excited. The set is handpainted with the typical flowers and butterflies along with the green and gold rim typical of this pattern. The rim has a basketweave design in relief and the cup has a nice handle shape. I think it is a breakfast cup as it is fairly large! Both pieces are marked underneath with their blue shield under the crown mark as shown as well as the impressed Herend stamp and a number 701 though that is hard to read on the cup. The set is in perfect condition. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 3.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 6.125 inches in diameter.
