Herend Set of Eight Plates

This is a set of eight plates made by Herend in about 1860. They are handpainted with a large floral arrangement as well as smaller flowers scattered throughout as well as on the bottom rim. Nice reticulated rim design reminiscent of Fuerstenberg plates of the 18th century. Some of the flowers reminds one of the early Meissen ones. The plates are in perfect condition and are marked with the blue shield mark as well as the letter S and some have an impressed Herend as well. They are 9.5 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall.
