Sauce Dish

This is a really interesting piece. It is a sauce dish that looks to be from the Meissen factory but the colors are ever so slightly off and the trim is a thin black line plus it is unmarked - not even an imrpessed number which could be the case with this style flowers but I believe it is a really early Herend piece. Their earliest pieces were often copies of the earliest top German maker and their quality is jsut as good only 100 years later. I have seen unmarked pieces from this period by them. So I think it is a Herend piece from the mid 19th century. It is superbly modeled with a absket weave trim to the top edge, three really nicely hand painted woodcut style flowers and lots of smaller single flowers some of which are painted over firing flaws just like the original pieces from the early 18th century. It's a great piece and in amazing condition except for the firing flaws. If you didn't know any better you'd think this is Meissen from the around 1735. The piece is not marked but I am certain about my attribution. The dish is 2.25 inches tall, 9.625 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
