Tata Spice Dish

This is a spice dish made by Tata in the 19th century. This factory in Tata was only a decorating studio that painted Herend blanks and some Czech blanks as well. It was founded by Desider Fischer. The dish is nicely modeled with a bird in the center and a basket on either side with three feet as the base. It is handpainted very well and even has a bird scene on the bottom inside of each basket. The dish is marked underneath with Herend-like shield mark with the letter T underneath and an incised 11A. The dish is in great condition with one basket having a chip on the front that never actually came out. The entire piece is 4.75 inches tall, 5.25 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep.
